Grandma Prisja, her daughter Slava and grandson Vovtshyk live their everyday life in a godforsaken forbidden zone of Chernobyl where there are only wild beasts, mermaids and stalkers. A world where people know what really happened in 1986 and why the situation in Ukraine is the way it is. At least Prisja – she is over 80 – knows.

Biography

Volodymyr Tykhyy (born 1970) is a Ukrainian film director, screenwriter, and producer of documentary and feature films. He was born in the city of Chervonohrad, Lviv region. He studied film direction at the Kyiv National I. K. Karpenko-Kary Theatre, Cinema and Television University. He worked at the television studios "Studio 1+1" and "Danapris-film."

He began his career in 1993, directing commercials, TV movies, and TV series. Later, he shifted his focus to documentary filmmaking and eventually transitioned to directing full-length feature films. In most of his works, he serves as both director and screenwriter. 

In 2018, he became one of the laureates of the Taras Shevchenko National Prize of Ukraine for a series of historical documentary films about the Revolution of Dignity.
