Biography

Jean Eustache (1938-1981) was a French film director, screenwriter, actor, and editor. During his short career, he directed numerous short films as well as a couple of highly acclaimed feature films. His first feature film, "The Mother and the Whore" (1973, Grand Prix at the Cannes Film Festival), is considered a key work in French cinema after the Nouvelle Vague.
