Lev, a cynical actor from a provincial theatre, is fired after decades spent on stage. Bitter, unemployed, and convinced that his talent has never been recognized, he accepts an unusual offer from an old friend: to pose as a psychiatric patient during medical students’ examinations.

What begins as a temporary performance gradually becomes something else. Inside the hospital, Lev encounters people whom society has long dismissed and forgotten. As he immerses himself in their world, the line between role and reality begins to blur.

When one of his actions puts another person's life at risk, Lev is forced to confront the consequences of a role that may have gone too far.

Biography

Sergii Storozhev is a Ukrainian film director, screenwriter, and producer born in 1990 in Mariupol, Ukraine.

After graduating from Mariupol State University, Serhii began his career in television and later became the chief director of major national television projects. Throughout his career, he has directed feature films, documentaries, television productions, and large-scale live broadcasts.

Following Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Serhii Storozhev focused on documentary filmmaking, exploring the impact of war on people's lives. He has repeatedly worked and continues to work in frontline areas and active combat zones, documenting military operations and the consequences of war.

Despite the challenges of wartime, Serhii has continued to work in fiction cinema. In 2026, he completed his feature film The Soloist, which was shot in Ukraine under wartime conditions.
