To the Victory! is a dystopian story about the difficult post-war future of Ukraine. The main character, a film director, is deprived of the opportunity to pursue his profession. His wife and daughter have been living in Vienna for three years and see no point in returning home. The protagonist understands that he cannot join his family because he is unable to find professional fulfillment outside of Ukraine. The characters try to adapt to their new circumstances and believe that these difficult times will pass.

Biography

Valentyn Vasyanovych is a Ukrainian film director, cinematographer, screenwriter, and producer. Born in 1971 in Zhytomyr. He gained worldwide recognition thanks to the film "Atlantis", which won the "Orizzonti" section at the Venice Film Festival (2019), and the film "Reflection" (2021), which was presented in the main competition at Venice.
