Orysia and Veronika flee Ukraine with the little girls and the women of their family, seeking refuge in Portugal, only to learn that exile doesn’t end a war. In a seemingly safe country, the war’s aftershocks seep into ordinary days, and peace struggles to take hold, however quiet the landscape seems to be.

Biography

Ana was born and raised in Lisbon. She worked as an actress in television, theatre and films.

She studied art in its various forms. After obtaining a degree in painting from the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Lisbon, Ana moved to London. Completing a Master’s degree in film directing convinced her that cinema is one of the most comprehensive forms of self-expression.

At the London Film School, she trained as a director, focusing on feature films and documentaries.
