Boosting ideas Workshop
For the first time, the renowned LESS IS MORE script lab is coming to Ukraine — offering a unique opportunity for Ukrainian filmmakers to work with one of Europe's most influential story development teams, without leaving home.
For two decades, Le Groupe Ouest — the celebrated film lab on the coast of Brittany — has been one of Europe's leading laboratories for screenwriting and story development. Its flagship programme LIM² | Less is More has accompanied hundreds of writers, directors and producers from across the continent, with alumni projects going on to premiere at top international festivals. At the heart of its method lies a simple conviction: limitation is not an obstacle but a creative engine — and the strongest films are born before a single page of script is written.
Now, this experience comes to Kyiv.
Odessa International Film Festival and LIM² | Less is More, offers the chance for up to 12 Ukrainian participants to take part in a four-days’ workshop in Kyiv, focusing on the creative process PRIOR to writing.
For Ukrainian filmmakers working today — often in conditions of uncertainty, interruption and scarcity — the prewriting approach offers a way to turn constraint into creative fuel, and to build stories strong enough to travel.
The workshop will be led by Antoine Le Bos (Screenwriter, Founder & Artistic Director of Le Groupe Ouest) and Vassili Silovic (Writer and Director of documentary films).
Participation is open for Scriptwriters, Directors & Creative Producers working in both Fiction and Documentary.
Scriptwriters and Directors apply with one early-stage project or several ideas for a fiction feature film / TV series / documentary, that they would like to explore. Applying with the summary of an advanced script is NOT advised.
Creative producers apply without a project.
This workshop can serve as a springboard to be shortlisted for LIM² annual programme.
Workshop language: ENGLISH
Deadline - 12.07.2026.
