Biography

Catalina Gómez Ángel, an award-winning Colombian war correspondent who has spent nearly two decades covering conflicts across the Middle East and Eastern Europe, Behind the War offers an intimate and deeply human perspective on those who chose to fight for Ukraine and the personal price that decision demands. Gómez Ángel is the recipient of the 2026 Gabo Award for Excellence, one of the highest honors in Ibero-American journalism.
