EuroKryvbas explores the European heritage of the Dnipro region and highlights the contributions of Belgian, French, British, German, and Polish entrepreneurs and engineers to the development of Dnipro, Kryvyi Rih, and Kamianske. Filmed in Ukraine, Poland, and Canada, it combines archival footage with interviews featuring Ukrainian and international experts, as well as descendants of European settlers. The film brings little-known chapters of the region’s history back into the public eye and reassesses its European heritage amid the war. It is a sequel to the documentary EuroDonbas.

Biography

Maryna Tkachuk is a documentary filmmaker with over 20 years of experience in journalism, filmmaking, and screenwriting. She specializes in stories of historical memory, identity, and resilience. Her films have been screened internationally, including at the Warsaw International Film Festival and the European Parliament in Strasbourg.

Biography

Anna Palenchuk is a film producer, scriptwriter, and co-founder of the Ukrainian production company 435 FILMS and BE BRAVE FILMS in Canada. She has produced award-winning documentaries and feature films with renowned directors such as Mantas Kvedaravičius, Vitaliy Manskiy, Oleg Sentsov, Akhtem Seitablayev, and Maciek Hamela. These films have premiered at prestigious festivals including Cannes, Berlinale, TIFF, IDFA, KVIFF, PÖFF, Sheffield DocFest, DOC NYC, and Hot Docs, among others.
