Generation 2014 is a six-part docu-drama series about six volunteers of the Hospitallers Medical Battalion who have been saving lives and fighting for Ukraine’s future since 2014. The uniqueness of the project lies in the fact that it was filmed over a period of ten years by director and volunteer Yevhen Titarenko, who himself experienced the war. Following Russia’s full-scale invasion in 2022, some of the protagonists returned to the front.

Biography

Yevhen Titarenko is a Ukrainian film director, cinematographer and volunteer of the Hospitallers Medical Battalion since 2014. He was among the first Ukrainian documentary filmmakers to document the Russian-Ukrainian war directly from the front line. He is the author of documentary films on war and social issues, including "The Evacuation", "Chornobyl 35", "The Righteous" and "Eastern Front", which had its world premiere at Berlinale 2023. His films have been screened at international festivals and in dozens of countries worldwide..
