In 2014, three Ukrainian volunteers went to the frontline. Back home, they struggle to rebuild their lives, but Russia's full-scale invasion in 2022 forces them to return to war. Filmed over twelve years, To Die To Live is an intimate portrait of a generation that chose to fight for freedom while searching for a way back to life.

Biography
Yuliia Hontaruk is a Ukrainian film director, producer and co-founder of the documentary collective BABYLON'13. Since the Euromaidan Revolution, she has documented Ukraine through revolution, occupation and full-scale war. Her works include Ten Seconds, Fortress Mariupol and To Die To Live, filmed over twelve years.
