Biography

Julio Medem (San Sebastian, 1958) is one of the most personal and reputed directors and screenwriters of the current national cinematography. Praised by both critics and audiences, his work has been presented at the most important film festivals in the world – including Cannes, Berlin, and Venice – receiving a multitude of awards such as the Youth Award at the Directors' Fortnight of the Cannes Film Festival for “The Red Squirrel” (1993) or the Goya Award for Best New Director for “Cows” (1993).
