Małgorzata is fully in control of every aspect of her life. Resolute, well-organized, and with her feet firmly on the ground, she has sacrificed everything for her career. Her younger sister Łucja on the other hand, is an impulsive seeker who sometimes loses her way in life, but has managed to find fulfillment in motherhood. Though their lives have often gone in very different directions, the sisters are brought back together for the most important journey of all when Łucja takes the terminally ill Małgorzata to an end-of-life clinic in Switzerland.

They set off on the journey with different intentions: Małgorzata wants to leave the world on her own terms, while Łucja hopes to persuade her sister to change her mind and fight for her life.

As they struggle to resolve their differences amid tears and laughter, will the two of them be able to rediscover the closeness they once shared? Or will the trip of a lifetime also be a last goodbye?

Biography

Winner of over 50 prizes and nominated for an Academy Award for his short A Man Thing (2001). His feature-film debut Retrieval (2005), awarded a special mention by the Ecumenical jury at the 2006 Cannes Film Festival, was Poland's official Oscar entry that same year and was shown in arthouse cinemas in the United States. His next feature, Loving (2012) won the Special Jury Award at the Polish Feature Film Festival in Gdynia, in 2013. Fabicki is a member of the Polish and European Film Academies and sits on the board of the Directors' Guild of Poland.
