The peaceful life on a racehorse stud farm in southern Sweden is shattered when Lykke and Kristian’s second child is born. What should be a time of happiness turns into a descent into darkness as Lykke is consumed by postpartum depression. As her world unravels, Kristian struggles to step up – until, fearing for their children, he makes the heartbreaking decision to leave. On her own, Lykke must fight her way back, rediscovering her strength and reviving hope for the family to reunite.

Biography

Alexe Landgren is a screenwriter and director from southern Sweden. She has a background working with extras and casting, and has made nine shorts, screened at festivals globally. In 2017, she won Pixel Talent Award, and she has also received the screenwriter’s scholarship from Andrew’s Foundation. Alexe also writes for other directors and works as a script consultant. She likes to tell stories about women, in various genres, but always with close care and subtle humor.

Karen Helene Haugaard is a Dane living in Sweden since the 90s. She began her career as an actor and has worked in the film industry as production manager and as 1st and 2nd AD, while making several shorts as a writer/ director. In 2013-14 she took part in Pure Fiction, a talent program aimed for female directors making their feature debut, where she developed a massive Viking epos. Karen Helene is also a trained film pedagogue, and a lot of her work focus on children and children’s perspective.
