A radical cinematic manifesto through the voices of the fiercest women in filmmaking – unflinching, unapologetic, and with no mercy.
In No Mercy, Isa Willinger will explore the thesis that it is actually women who make the tougher films. Cult director Kira Muratova shared this idea with Willinger in an interview a few years ago, and it has stuck with her ever since. Now, with No Mercy, Isa Willinger will embark on a journey to the great female directors of our time and raise the question whether the female gaze in film is indeed more ruthless. Last but not least, No Mercy will also look at where we truly stand today in terms of women, men, and power.

DIRECTOR - ISA WILLINGER

Biography
Isa Willinger studied documentary film directing at the University of Television and Film Munich. Her debut feature film, Hi, AI was nominated for the German Film Award for best documentary in 2019 and won the Max Ophüls Award in the same category. In 2020, Isa was awarded the SI STAR film prize for outstanding female directors for Hi, AI.
Isa's other films include the international award-winning documentary Away From All Suns (2013, HFF/BR/ARTE), which received the Starter Film Prize of the City of Munich, among others; and the TV documentary Music And Power (2018, WDR/ARTE), for which she was awarded the Václav Havel Prize.
