On February 24, 2022, Google locations of Ukrainian museums are switched off, and Ukrainian art goes underground. With the enemy threatening cultural centers, an army of volunteers rises to protect Ukraine’s artistic heritage from annihilation. Lacking official guidance, armed only with determination, they embark to safeguard artifacts. War on Art is a story of resilience in the face of destruction, where the struggle to save art is a battle to save a nation.

Biography

Andrzej Miękus is a director and creative producer of independent documentary films. His latest project, How Much For Art, premiered in May 2023 at the DOCS AGAINST Gravity festival, becoming one of the hits of the festival. 

He began his career as a journalist for Polish television, and then as a publisher and editor-in-chief created several publishing projects, In 2015, Andrzej returned behind the camera. He owns the production boutique Film Boom Productions Ltd. Lives and works in Berlin.
