When Martin Schoeller puts up his photo booth, he creates an intimate space in which people tell him about themselves. He, the photographer, becomes an unprejudiced listener, a confidant for a short time. In his photo series, he focuses on those parts of society that are too little in the public eye, such as the homeless, the LGBTQI+ community, Death Row Exonerees, Drag Queens or Native Americans.

Biography

Josephine Links was born in East Berlin in 1983. After extended stays abroad in England and Japan, she completed a master's degree in European Ethnology and Film Studies in Berlin and then studied directing at the ‘Konrad Wolf’ University of Film and Television in Potsdam-Babelsberg. In 2013, she graduated with the feature length documentary “Am Anfang” and has since worked as a freelance director. Her films have been successfully screened at national and international film festivals and have won numerous awards.

In 2021, her first book as an author was published by BELTZ Verlag (“Stilles Herz”). With her husband, the cinematographer Michel Links, and their two sons, she now lives and works in Wendland, Germany.
